about

When you are an obscure band, of course you are going to release an album of versions of songs by an even more obscure band ...

For whatever reason, in August 2018 we started rehearsing a number of songs by Newsome's mid-90s band The Sump. We then decided to play at Phase 4 Records & Cassettes in Brisbane performing these songs. The show didn't go all that well and, as a result, we then decided to record the songs live at home using an old 4 track cassette recorder. We then dumped those tracks into Logic Pro X for some minor tweaking and mastering. So, this is basically a live recording (and, yes, there are mistakes galore especially with the vocals).

Given the poor sales performances of recent product, we have only pressed three lathe cut vinyl versions of the album, of which only one is for sale (this will most likely become a 'spare' for us).

Anyway, it will serve as some sort of reminder for us in years to come that we actually did this ...
