Not Missed 03:17
Who cries, plaintively? And who wails on, endlessly? No substance Or consequence Just a weak shard of light In the endless darkness CH: Didn't show at work for days But he was not missed Didn't make it home for weeks But he was never missed Didn't pay the bills on time But he was not missed Didn't answer any calls But he was never missed Are they his legs Flailing? Or giant hands From a small man CH
2.
And now here His hands moving Along with his mind A waste of time His gaze unfocussed To the corners he goes now And dreams of leaving Of an end to the end of CH: Love and death His weakness now The promised words not spoken Oh where does he go now? No-one knows And no-one cares Just as long as he's leaving Never to return And then What then? The eyes fading To shades of illusion And shallowness within him His gaze unfocussed To the corners he goes now And dreams of leaving Of an end to the end of CH
3.
Unbelievably He and she Across the seas And oceans deep Despite the waves Despite their age The ups, the downs They never, ever drowned PRE CH: 'Do you like to watch the world burn?' she said 'Do you want to dive down to the depths of our despair?' And he said: CH: 'I will follow you for the rest of time Until it burns down to the ground I will be by your side to the end of time Until there's no more of us to be found' Let us ignore Reality And go forth Blindly loving Hoping for A meteor Or some such thing So the end begins PRE CH CH

Chatter smoke A lasting joke Get off the chair Enough with the stares In the half-light No, no You sad clown Just about drowned In the wasteland CH: C'mon now You know you're done C'mon now Ever since it begun In the half baked light He turned inside out Emptied his tiny mind Of thoughts of the waste Oh yeah All thru the day And into the night Get off that chair New, but really old Everything cold Like a frozen choir In a death camp You never know Thrust in the face Pleasantries And simple grace CH: C'mon now You know you're done C'mon now Ever since it begun In the half baked light He turned all night Emptied his tiny mind Of thoughts of the waste Of his life And of his mind Of his time And of his crimes In the wasteland Oh in the wasteland
6.
The words they do not come No loss to anyone But she was the sun She was the only one Where we were and what was said Who we were and where we went The days of our youth Emptied out, misused CH: Go on about your life as if in a dream Go on even though it seems There is nothing left to say, see or do Just marking time now baby Marking time as we see it through I want another dream Give me anything new What was leading up to this Just memories that persist And the kiss of borrowed lies Fluid, yet stuck in time All that's left of our dreams Falls apart at the seams CH
7.
To round the plains of death's disdain Like a shot from a gun And hold in your hand the emptiness Of the last setting sun As water falls through our hands In a scene contrived And our despair of life at least sees us Still alive CH: Whereupon the last of the day just fades away Smothered by the unbearable dullness on display You and her and her and him slow dance in the wind Pretending this could be anything other than something grim So it seems the tangled three will no longer be And they drive off all alone accordingly Directionless except for her as she drives into the sun Eyes closed and hearts heavy, how can they go on? CH

about

The title says it all really. Very simple songs quickly written and quickly recorded with a disingenuous intent to re-record guide guitars, vocals etc later. Of course, when the time came to do said re-recording, the attitude was 'fuck it, the guide tracks will do'.

The one thing we are not when it comes to making music is precious.
